There’s still apparently no 3G to be found, but E-TEN looks to be prepping the successor to its arguably attractive (and unarguably thin) X500 and X500+ Windows Mobile handsets. The new X600 model — allegedly being announced any day now — should feature 128MB of ROM with 64MB RAM (isn’t 256 and 128 the standard nowadays?), 2 megapixel cam, microSD expansion, Bluetooth, WiFi, and GPS all stuffed into a case measuring 14.7mm thick. If it rocked a VGA display we’d be in business, but we’ll ...

We have already seen a hell lot of diamond-studded cellphones and the latest entrant to the family is a cellphone from the house of Connecty (never-heard-before) that comes covered in diamonds. Showcased at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair, the Connecty phone is a bar-type handset whose design seems to be inspired from the Vertu’s Signature Cobra mobile phone. The specification, price and availability of this handset are not known yet. It looks like the phone is targeted at the fairer sex.

Samsung just got busy with a trio of MP3, AAC, AAC+, e-AAC+, WMA, and WMDRM supporting musicphones: the dual-sliding SGH-i450, slim SGH-F330 with HSDPA, and SGH-F210 swivel stick. Most impressive is the €360/$508 Symbian i450 with Touch Wheel music navigation pictured above. Didn’t take long at all following HTC’s official announcement of the Touch Dual for carriers to start getting on board. First up is O2 German with the “Xda star,” continuing O2’s longstanding tradition of appending somewhat random words onto “Xda” to come up with names for its smartphone hardware. The Xda star’s design differs slightly from the Touch Dual reference design — note the retooled button layout below the screen — but specs are otherwise unchanged. It’ll be available in the SureType-esque ...

The Sony Ericsson W960i is a “Walkman” version of the Sony Ericsson P1i 3G smartphone, and it can be considered to be a straight upgrade to the existing W950i.

Two major improvements with the W960i over the previous model are the inclusion of a 3.2 megapixel camera and WiFi support - the lack of a camera on the older model was an oddity due to the fact that it too was based on another Sony Ericsson smartphone, this time the M600i. One thing to notice about the W960i is the unusually uncluttered ...

Remember the Nokia N-Gage? Nokia’s original attempt at a gaming platform fell a bit flat in most (but not all) markets and largely sank without trace. But Nokia didn’t give up on the idea of advanced mobile gaming, and now it’s back with a vengeance on the Nokia N81 plus some other smartphone devices in the Nokia range. So what exactly makes up the Nokia N81? Well, this is a 3G slider with a 2.4″ 240 x 320 pixel display that works in landscape (wide) and portrait (tall) orientations. ...

Closely related to the Nokia 7500, the Nokia 7900 Prism is a 3G fashion phone with a radical design that some people will love, and others will probably loath. The 7900 uses a lot of metal in its construction, including an aluminium back cover and laser etched detailing.
